Release Date: 22 December 2025
I’ve never had a press release done for me before, but I signed up for Ditto’s promotional campaign to aid me with the release of my upcoming debut album, Insanity vs Reality. It sounds pretty cool, so I thought I’d share it:
In a stirring testament to the power of perseverance, David Graham announces the release of his debut album, Insanity vs Reality, set to launch on 22nd December 2025. This pop collection pulses with themes of battling adversity, embracing self-confidence, and refusing to surrender to life’s harshest blows, a narrative drawn straight from the artist’s own extraordinary journey.
At its core, Insanity vs Reality embodies the spirit of defiance against doubt. Each track weaves lyrics that inspire listeners to push forward, proving naysayers wrong through sheer determination. Standout songs like Believe serve as a heartfelt message to David Graham’s younger self, urging courage amid the darkest moments of his injury struggles, with the hope that it motivates others to chase their ambitions without fear.
You Are Beautiful draws from experiences of school bullying, encouraging self-acceptance and freedom from judgment. You Can’t Hurt Me confronts global hatred, transforming negativity into fuel for unbreakable resolve. Ocean of Despair recounts the pain of lost love, while the title track Insanity stems from a poem exploring how true madness lies in denying one’s authentic path, advocating instead for embracing genuine reality over contrived sanity.
Every song carries a personal story, meticulously crafted over years of lyric writing and poetry. David Graham penned all the lyrics himself, drawing from diverse life chapters and emotions. Unable to play instruments due to severe wrist injuries, he turned to Suno AI to bring his visions to life, using it for both music and vocals.
The process was intricate and demanding: some tracks built on pre-existing guitar beats from his computer, others refined from melodies in his mind. Inputting inspirations, structures, and descriptions, he collaborated with the AI through persistent refinement to capture the exact sound he envisioned.
The result is a solo endeavour that transformed longstanding ideas into a cohesive album, released purely for enjoyment and as a creative outlet. Should listeners connect with it or bands reinterpret the tracks live, David Graham views that as an extraordinary bonus.
David Graham’s path to this milestone is as compelling as the music itself. A lifelong enthusiast of songwriting, he began playing guitar at 18, experimenting with lyrics and tunes in his youth. Tragically, wrist injuries in his early twenties worsened dramatically in his thirties, culminating in total loss of hand function during the Covid-19 period.
Defying medical predictions, he regained partial use through relentless effort, though playing guitar or piano remains impossible. Undeterred, the advent of AI music tools ignited his dream anew. Over the past year, he has released six singles, four pop, one soft rock, and one R&B, with You Are Beautiful reprised here as his inaugural accomplished composition.
Beyond music, David Graham is a prolific writer from the north-east of England, active on Medium since 2020 with 15,000 followers. Relying on voice dictation software due to his injuries, he explores comedy, history, science, popular culture, and fiction. His short story Terror on the Mind is available on Amazon Kindle, and a novel, Scorched Earth: The Library of Power, is forthcoming.
With past modelling work and appearances as an extra on television shows like George Gently and Vera, he embodies boundless creativity. Holding degrees in Finance and Investment Management, and English Literature and Creative Writing, David Graham balances his pursuits with gym sessions and a passion for classic action films and books.
