In the early 2010s, I created a great beat that I absolutely loved. I wrote it on the acoustic guitar, and it started with the line, “The beat keeps playing, playing and playing”. I loved the rhythm, I loved the chorus, but there were bits missing. Something about the song was not right.
I recently came back to it thanks to the invention of AI music creation. I input the inspiration of me playing the guitar, input the lyrics, and then began playing around. To say this song took me an age to create and get right would be an understatement. I spent an entire month on it. Once I got the sound right, it took endless tweaks in the editor to bring it all together.
But finally I did manage to bring it all together and bring the song to life. I went with soft rock genre, something which the AI allowed me to experiment with, which is cool, and the song is about overcoming adversity. The beat is the drone of life; it keeps playing, it’s eternally knowing, but you’re fighting against its negative pull. You’re holding on, staying strong, proving to all that you are the one.
The inspiration for the lyrics comes from my own challenges in life. The number of times injury has made me feel like giving up, that life in general has felt like it was trying to tear me down, is crazy and yet I refused to give up. I kept believing and kept holding on, and that feeling inspired this song.
