In the early 2010s, I wrote a song and gave it the opening line, “We don’t have to for that”, but I could never find a way to make the song work in the way I wanted it to. With me getting into AI music creation, I decided to revisit the song and the lyrics and give it another go.
It took me an absolute age playing about with the lyrics, different styles, different inputs, but I managed to finally find a way to bring the song to life. It’s Latino pop genre, which was a bit out of the box, as I originally planned it as an acoustic song, but the Latino pop genre just really works with the lyrics.
Being honest, this is one of the things I’m loving about AI music creation. Without its invention, I could never have experimented with a Latino pop genre, yet here I am able to experiment with any genre I want and mix genres. It really is a brilliant piece of technology for music creation, as it gives you so much freedom to experiment and find the best way to go with a song.
Like Dreaming of the Day, I went with a female AI vocalist. It tells the story of somebody who has found someone who is perfect for them, but that someone doesn’t want to be a couple. The love is there, but that someone won’t accept it as enough. It tells the story of the singer’s heartbreak at the fact they could have a great life together, but this person won’t open their eyes.
