I submitted my latest single, If You Just Stay, into SubmitHub’s Hot or Not charts, and I’m very happy to say that it made it to number one in both the three-day and seven-day charts.

SubmitHub is one of the largest online platforms for musicians. It connects independent musicians with music creators, bloggers and social media influencers. Over a million songs have been submitted since 2015.
Needless to say, making it to number one on their Hot or Not charts, where fellow musicians and music curators rate a song based on its artistic merit, is very cool.
Thanks to all who rated my song so highly. It truly is amazing to get such strong feedback from fellow musicians. Hopefully, it is a sign of things to come, and the song will grow in popularity.
Here are some of the things that those who rated the song have said about it:
“The singer sounds incredible” – Legendary Network
“Vocals and guitar are great” – York Calling
“The hook lands with strong energy” – Mario Savina
“It has an epic feel” – Nick Swettenham
“Amazingly sweet vocals” – Lora Wey
“Well-defined rhythm works nicely” – Rustic Roots
“Distinctive tonal signature” – Lili´s Music Hub
“The guitar is really good” – Freim TV
“An emotional and wonderful tune” – Sinusoidal Music
“Tight and catchy rhythm” – Sugarcoat
It is very cool to get praise about the vocals. Using AI to convert my average singing voice into a good singing voice did leave me a bit worried that it would sound unnatural, so to hear praise like this is great. Several listeners even went as far as describing the vocals as rich, deep, powerful, beautiful, expressive, and well-matched with the instrumentation.
Speaking of the instrumentation, hearing the acoustic guitar playing get praise is very cool. When I came up with the tune on the acoustic guitar, I knew I would never be able to give it justice due to my wrist injuries, so when using the AI to try to take it to that next level, there was always the worry it would sound too synthetic.
But hearing the guitar play get such praise is very cool. A common theme of the praise was that the production was clean, it carried warm tones, strong interplay, and had distinctive opening lines. All top-notch stuff.
Other things I’m very happy to hear are the praise that highlighted that the song had a strong emotional character, a calm atmosphere, a nostalgic quality, relatable lyrics, and a romantic/melancholic mood.
Considering that the lyrics came from a very personal place, it is very cool to hear such warm words about them.
All in all, I’ve been really happy with the response to the song so thanks to all who have listened. Truly!
